Ciro Perna

Founder, Head Coach high stakes

ciro approached the world of poker in 2003 during his college career, and was immediately fascinated. After quickly sensing that there were people who approached the game professionally using math, he threw himself headlong into one of the main disciplines of those years: sit and go. With the opening of the major gaming platforms on .it, Cyrus started from the bottom and in less than a year came to play on Gioco Digitale with the nickname “imper1um” the high stakes of sit’n go.

In 2009, with the advent of cash game on the .it, Ciro landed at the tables of 6 max no limit hold’em and began his training path while still continuing to mix the two disciplines, and then in 2010 he devoted himself exclusively to cash game. Having realized early on that it would be possible to apply game theory to 6 max no limit holdem, Ciro embarks on a synchronous path of study and grinding that leads him, in a short time, to play profitably high stakes on .it. In 2014 he decided to move abroad to take the plunge and collide with the .com field, where he continues to play to this day.

Although his work commitment in recent years has been all-consuming, Cyrus does not abandon his interests: he studies the world of finance, loves travel (which sometimes coincides with work trips), and teaching.

In the past year he has been getting closer to the live circuits, reaching the final table of the 2021 WSOPE circuit mini main event, and participating in the summer of 2022 at the WSOP in Las Vegas.

Antonio Scala

Coach Cash Game

Antonio was born in Naples in 1993 and in 2014, during his university course, he learned of the existence of the game of poker and began to play it sporadically with his friends. His passion for Texas hold’em is very strong from the very beginning, which leads him to gather strategic information about the game through traditional methods, such as reading several books on the subject and frequenting some forums, mainly 2+2.

In 2015, he began his online career via a stack/coaching path with Ciro, starting in NL5 and quickly climbing the first levels of the micro limits eventually playing NL50. His poker journey continued in the following years, during which he matured the decision to abandon his university studies to devote himself full-time to poker, eventually playing the NL200 in 2018.

In 2019, in search of new stimulation, he decided to undertake a challenge advertised on 2+2 that represented the real turning point of his career: starting from NL25 and using a bankroll of 1k euros, in eleven months – in spite of the predetermined eighteen – he completed the initial goal of the challenge reaching a net profit of 100k.

In 2020 he then begins to play the high stakes of the main .it poker rooms continuing to achieve excellent results, until 2021 and 2022, years in which he is confirmed as one of the most profitable players in the Italian poker scene.

An avid soccer fan, tireless traveler, whiskey connoisseur, he spends his spare time cultivating his passions.

Simone Mancini

Coach cash game

Simone, class of ’89, discovered Texas hold’em in late 2008 through his first games among friends. His approach is very quick, he understands that the game is dominated by mathematics and that one can then gain a strategic advantage through study; in 2010 he began grind sit’n’go online full time and continued for the next 4 years climbing all levels of .it, eventually reaching the status of “reconfirmed emperor” on giocodigitale for 2 years.

After a few years, he began coaching with Ciro (a friend and colleague he met early in his career), who had switched to cash game a few years before.

Their 10-year friendship and collaboration resulted in Simone joining the t1p coaching group in 2020, where in addition to being one of the teachers, he manages the IT department; he plays the nl 200.

He loves music and computer science.

Marco Gioia

Coach Cash Game

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, Marco began his poker journey in 2012 , the year in which, thanks to the support of a friend who was already a professional poker player, he embarked on his career on the Pokerstars.it platform at the 6 max no limit hold’em tables under the nickname francoquaran. In a few months he scaled the levels up to nl100 and achieved supernova status in the same year.

In 2016, abetted by Pokerstars’ vip system revolution, he chose to try his hand at the mtt discipline, where in three years he achieved good results in terms of profit, winning major tournaments on the platform, including an ICOOP title.

In 2020 he approached again the discipline he had been passionate about from the beginning: cash game. He joined the Top1% project as a player climbing the levels up to nl200, and then in a year added to the school’s stable of coaches.

Passionate about literature and music, he loves travel, nature and movies.

Nichola Inghisciano

Coach cash game

Nicola stumbled into poker in 2011, looking for a way to monetize the game theory studies she was pursuing during her PhD in speculative logic in Bonn.

Living in Germany allowed him to tackle the .com environment early on, opening his first account on Full Tilt and exploring Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha before devoting himself fully to No Limit Hold’em.

His encounter with the Italian field would not occur until 2014, when, having returned to his homeland, he was hired first as a coach and then as head of education by Pokerstrategy.com at first and by Grinderlab in a second.

In conjunction with a master’s degree and subsequent career in HR, poker remains a part-time occupation until the end of 2019, when he decides to join Ciro Perna’s newly created project.

Nicola takes an analytical approach to both game study and teaching, paying particular attention to students’ logical-mathematical preparation and the creation of analytical tools.

What little free time I have is occupied by both other areas of study (game theory in general, mechanism design, theoretical philosophy, physics) and amateur interests, such as martial arts and guitar.
